Calculating Child Maintenance Payments
The CSA determines child maintenance according to a set formula. To complete the calculation, we will need the following information about the non-resident parent:
- Net income
- Number of children living with the non-resident parent
- How many nights per year the children sleep overnight with the non-resident parent
In addition to establishing child maintenance, we can appeal decisions made by the CSA if you believe the decisions were made in error. You must be represented by a solicitor in such an appeal.
If the non-resident parent has lost a job or experienced a significant change in income, we can apply to the court for a variation, changing the amount of child maintenance payable.
